The ACT Government imposes taxes to fund a range of city and community services such health, education and transport.

Unlike other States, the ACT has no local councils. The ACT Government performs the functions of both a State and local government.

More information on ACT taxes is available at www.revenue.act.gov.au. The major ACT taxes are outlined in this Chapter.
